OEN Programming
Welcome to OEN Programming!
We provide multiple ways for our partners to engage, learn, and share
The goals of these programs are multi-faceted and intersectional:
To build community
To rethink what professional development opportunities can look like
To highlight expertise from all over the nation and at all levels in the outdoor industry
To have conversations that may not always make it to team meetings within our own organizations
To accomplish these goals, we offer a variety of formats for our programs; Monthly Skills Sharing, Working Groups, Courses, and Specialized Workshops. We invite you to engage in any capacity that you’re able to do so.
Monthly Skills Sharing
Open to all OEN member organizations and their team members. If you think someone who you work collaboratively with would benefit from participating, please first reach out to Jackie and/or Seraph to ensure that it is an appropriate time for them to join these sessions.
Our monthly meetings have evolved into a space where network members and guests share areas of expertise with the rest of the network, through both storytelling and structured presentations. Find the recordings of previous sessions in the resources page.
Timing: Last Tuesday of every month at 11am PST
Working Groups
Open to all OEN member organizations and their team members. We will communicate when it is appropriate to invite organizational and/or programmatic partners.
Each working group is scheduled for 6 occurrences, and will have specific topics to discuss. However, if the conversation needs to continue beyond the 6 occurrences, we will adapt accordingly. We hope that with this new structure, OEN Working groups will be more intentional and remain focused, and help us grow and create tools/resources that are beneficial for all of our work.
Courses
Open to all OEN member organizations and their team members. We will record these sessions to share, as we understand that these are a larger time commitment than our other programs.
Our courses are OEN led, and we invite experts to help lead these sessions. Courses aim to take a deep dive into very specific areas of work. At the end of the courses, individuals will leave with a deeper understanding of said topic, immediately actionable and implementable recommendations, as well as a newly found community within other course participants. We hope that this format helps strengthen your professional community, as well as reenforce how important your work and dedication is.
