Gear Libraries
OEN members reduce one of the biggest barriers to getting outside—access to gear—by curating and providing access to outdoor equipment libraries that make it possible for schools and youth service organizations to take their youth outdoors safely. Upon completing their outdoor leadership training, youth workers and teachers borrow outdoor gear for their youth trips. Each gear library looks different, but they are all stocked with high quality outdoor gear including sleeping bags and pads, tents, boots, rain and fleece layers, backpacking packs, and cooking kits. Each member has a process for their gear, including reserving, checking in and out, and sanitizing after each use.
